My lifelong passion for sculpting began as a teenager when I came across some putty left by builders and I became absorbed by the malleability of the material. When I was flung out of a cake decoration class at school for being better suited to the pottery room, I began to give my interest full rein and explore my fascination with horses and then with people, in clay form.
The process of creation fascinates me. Everything I make is an interaction between my mind, my heart, my hands, the material and the subject. This connection grows and weaves together and becomes a sculpture and as the sculptures are talked about and watched in their new homes, they take on added meanings; they become part of the story of your own life.
My collection of limited-edition sculptures are cast in solid bronze using the traditional lost-wax method, finished with a hand-applied patina. The size of the bronze limited editions are usually 9 and each comes with a certificate of authenticity. I also cast open editions in resin and composite materials, available in different colours.
My work has been shown at The Mall Galleries London, Coleridge of Highgate, The Usiskin Gallery, The Priory Art Gallery, Hampstead, The New Grafton Gallery Barnes, Olympia Fine Art Antiques Fair, The Marylebone Gallery and also in France, Switzerland and Belgium.
